About the course: 

Quilling is the art of rolling, coiling, curling, and twisting small strips of paper to create a three-dimensional design. The designs can be quite intricate and used to decorate boxes, framed pictures, and greeting cards. The process dates to ancient Egypt, but gained prominence in 15th century Europe, where nuns used gilded book edges to imitate metal filigree for religious items. It became a popular pastime for aristocratic women in the 18th century England. Its name comes from the use of a feather quill to roll the paper strips. In this workshop students will learn the various techniques and use of tools, such as quilling pens to create their three-dimensional projects.
