Traditional Wet Felting – June 6, 2026

$145.00

About the course:

In this beginner friendly class students will learn how to create a hollow 3-D form using fiber locally sourced from Berkshire County farms. Wet felting is a technique using water, soap and lots of “elbow grease” to create fabric from loose unspun wool. The class will begin with a brief overview of this 4000-year-old craft along with examples of wool preparations from different breeds of sheep. Students will start with a follow along demo to create a small sample of flat felt to get a feel for the felting technique. Students will then choose to create a bowl, vase, or vessel using the resist technique. The class ends with finishing and drying techniques.
